Budwig Musts

Hi all, was wondering if anyone could shed light on the absolute musts when doing the Budwig Protocol. My husband was diagnosed with stage 1 esophageal cancer back in February 2022. Been doing various alternative methods from the beginning and attempting Budwig now. We're having a hard time differentiating between what we must do and what is suggested. My husband is religiously consuming FOCC twice a day and getting 30 minutes of sunlight. No oils (other than flax) almost nothing processed. And we are whole food plant based (vegan). Also wanted to ask if anyone knows if quark 3% is better than 2% cottage cheese? Any information you can share is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sara

Hi, Sara. You guys are already well ahead of the curve here. My biggest hurdle was the food and it looks like you have that down already. I did alternate between cooked and raw cruciferous, FWIW. On raw days I made a "dip" from equal parts of ACV, flax oil, olive oil and pumpkinseed oil. The pumpkinseed oil is kind of the glue that gets the consistancy, as well as the olive oil I know that olive oil is not in the approved list but it really adds to the flavor. When mixed together, and by mixed I mean shaken in a jar with a lid, it should have a creamy texture. If it still separates, add a little more pumpkinseed and/or olive oil.

As far as the quark/cottage cheese discussion, I used regular Daisy 2% cottage cheese and healed. Some say quark tastes better.

I think you are on the right path and already doing the things that most find difficult to follow, me included, but I am still here over 8 years since dx stage 4 nsclc even with my trangressions.

Thanks for the clarification, Ron. Sometimes assume a certain common ground. The key with that "dip", which I also used for a salad dressing, is that too much ACV will ruin it. I would do 1 tbl of each fresh for each meal. If you go over on the ACV it is hard to get it back to that creamy texture, and it doesn't take much. It is really quite tasty, has a tangy zip to it.

Ok, thanks for that advice Rod....will have to remember to limit the ACV.

Equal parts works well for the most part. The ACV is what triggers the reaction but too much will ruin it.
