About Progress of the Treatment

Hello,

We have been following the Budwig protocol for five months, but the tumor continues to grow rapidly and has almost doubled in size. I am very worried, should I change the protocol?

Regards,

Mücahit

Hello Mucahit,

I'm very sorry that your father's tumor continues to grow after five months. I posted the 15 Key Points of Dr. Budwig's protocol so that you could review them to see if there is any part that you are missing or something that you have added that shouldn't be in the plan.  Please review the list and tell us if you need to change something you are doing that is different than what is listed. I hope we can find an answer for you and your father.

Kind regards,
Sandra Olson

Hello Sandra,

Thank you for the reply. I think the key points are OK but maybe additional essential oils are problem.

Like thyme, orange and lemon. And some herbal teas.

I don’t know how should I proceed 🫤

Thanks,

Mücahit.

Hi Mucahit,

Are you saying that you have been giving your father essential oils of lemon, orange and thyme? if that is the case, they are not part of Dr. Budwig's protocol and could  be causing interference, resulting in the flaxseed oil not being able to do its healing work. Flaxseed oil fully blended with quark or cottage cheese at breakfast and lunch are very important for healing. Fruit and nuts can be added to the mixture plus ground flaxseeds are added for the breakfast serving. Herbal teas are okay to use.

The only other oil in the Budwig plan is coconut oil that is combined with flaxseed oil as part of Dr. Budwig's substitute for butter.

Kind regards,
Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Yes, twice a day, we use 10 drops of lemon peel oil, 5 drops of orange peel oil and 3 drops of thyme peel oil, but with the Budwig mixture, we leave them at least 4 hours apart.

Now I found a naturopath and it promises at least 20% regression in the first two months. I am very confused, the mass is growing very fast and I think an urgent intervention is required. I was expecting at least a slowdown on the Budwig diet. Did a few drops of oil prevent it from working completely?

The naturopath I mentioned will also probably include a lot of things that disrupt our diet. I do not know what to do.

Thanks,

Mücahit

Hi Mucahit,

Dr. Budwig’s diet needs to be followed as she prescribed it. Adding other oils twice a day could interfere with healing. In her program, the flaxseed oil and ground flaxseeds have the major healing power.
The other part of the diet that is healing is the avoidance of eating animal protein. It is a lacto-vegetarian diet.

Only you and your father can decide whether you want to follow the Budwig diet correctly or try something different. I know it’s a difficult choice. I recall that one of our members followed the diet, eliminated the cancer; then stop the diet and began eating regularly. The cancer came back, so he began following the diet again and a second time, it stopped the cancer, and he remained healthy.

I hope you have success in whatever choice you make.

Kind regards,
Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Thank you for your good wishes. We strictly avoid animal proteins. We strictly follow the Budwig protocol, except for a few things I mentioned. I hope we find the right path. I have a lot of confidence in this protocol, but the rate at which the cancer is growing is shaking us.

Yours sincerely
Mücahit

Hi Mücahit

How are your father's stress levels ? His emotional health?
Dr. Budwig wrote that one can follow her diet strictly, but without success, if the patient is struggling emotionally.
Meditation, walking in nature,  reading,  relaxing, etc. are very important.
Just a thought.
Wishing your father well.
Best wishes

Hello Julie,

Thank you very much for your good wishes and evaluations.

Unfortunately, there are days when my father is stressed, but these are not related to his illness and unfortunately we cannot prevent it from time to time.

By the way, I would like to correct an information, my father's tumor has not doubled in size, the radiology report was published yesterday and it was seen that the tumor had grown by 1.5cm in length and 0.5cm in width. Of course, there is general growth and expansion everywhere. Since the tumor does not have a specific shape such as a square, radiologists give information about the longest and shortest sides.

Maybe there are still two points we can think positively about:

1- The tumor is still in the lung and has not spread to other organs.

2- There were 75 days between the previous 2 CT scans and the tumor grew by 2 cm. There are 110 days between the two current CT scans and the tumor has grown by 1.5cm.

So there is a 50% reduction in tumor growth rate, but I have no idea if this is significant.

In the Budwig protocol, it is said that it may take 6 months for the tumor to stop, maybe we are about to get close to that point, but I am still afraid. Because the tumor is close to the heart and when my father takes a deep breath, he feels pain in the area where his heart is.

Before starting treatment, my father had high blood pressure, now his blood pressure is always low even though we do not use medication. We usually measure 110/65. I don't know if this is related to the treatment or the growth of the tumor. My father's face seems to have turned a little white in the last week, why could this be? 😕

Thanks,
Mücahit

Dear Mücahit

Apologies for my late response.
I agree that the slow down in the growth of the tumour, and that it remains only in the lung, is encouraging.
Tumors can grow in the first few months of the protocol, this has been reported before.
Regarding stress levels, I understand that stress is inevitable at times but it's what we do to cope with the stress that is important, such as walking in nature,  meditation / mindfulness, EFT, etc.

In my experience the Budwig Protocol reduces blood pressure, the same has happened with my husband and some family members and friends.
As for your father's pallid face, the only things that spring to my mind are: Is he taking other medication? Could he be anaemic?

Best wishes

Is he outside in the sun 20 minutes a day? Does he go for small outside walks even around yard and rest outside under a blanket if needed from weather

Hello Julie,

His pallid face is gone after a few days. We are trying to reduce his stress as possible.

Hello Beckie,

He is outside over 3-4 hours everyday. He is working at our garden. He is stronger than me. The weather is sunny for this week he filled his D vitamin levels, I think.

Actually, he has no complaints except chest pain when deep breath. His weight is stable, appetite is also good.

I hope, he will be good. The big goal is stopping of the tumor. With the God’s help we will make a successful story. With all of your help.

Thank you.
Mücahit

This is good news, Mücahit.
I’m very happy to read that your father is strong, and outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

Praying for a great outcome for your father, and your family.

Julie
