Lignans

Please educate me!

I am confused about the lignans subject.

The Barleans flaxseed oil does not use the word "lignans," it just lists the types and amounts of different fats.

Thanks!

Barb

Hope this helps.

The lignans you get from the ground flaxseed.

Swanson is having a 35%-off sale/free shipping (ends today). Code is PREZ. This makes Barlean's 32 oz Flaxseed oil $25! It's heavy, so be careful, if you order lots, to separate your order so you don't get an extra $11 heavy-item shipping fee.

Good luck!

You can see that the blue label has "Lignan" above it.  It's not that oil with lignans in it is bad for you.  It's that you are going to be buying and grinding your own flax seed separately.  Besides, you have to measure the flax seed that you grind, and you can't measure it accurately at all when it is immersed in the oil, so why pay for it in the oil?  Just buy Barleans' red label oil, which contains no lignans.
