Too much and constipated


 

I'm finding that the FOCC twice in a day is just too much for me, and I'm gaining weight.  I only weight 115, so I'm wondering if I don't need as much.  I'm also very constipated from the dairy.  I've given up on BP several times in the past due to sensitivity to dairy, but I'm doing okay this time.  I think doing the lowfat made the difference.  Previously I used Nancy's which was full fat, and I couldn't tolerate it.  Any suggestions?

Perhaps instead of the 3::6 ratio on both servings, 
you could try the 2::4 ratio in one of your two daily servings.
Be it in the morning or afternoon.
That may help.

I feel your pain! I am close to your weight and so much FOCC seems way too much for me. I can hardly eat any other foods and have to really force myself to do it. Sometimes substituting food for juicing helps. I gained 3 kg on Budwig but then stopped gaining weight. FOCC makes me constipated too. I believe it is quark that is causing it. I have never ever had a problem with constipation prior to starting Budwig and always had 2-3 bm per day. On Budwig I can have none if I don't do something for it. I know for sure it is FOCC because I had surgery in Feb and several days prior to surgery and several days after it I was not consuming FOCC due to its supposedly mild blood thinning effect. I did not have any problems with healthy bm 2-3 times a day on those days. So it is quark that is cauing the problem. I was trying to solve it eating prunes, only raw (except FOCC mix), more beets, etc. But the only thing that actually works for me is Cleanse More by Renew Life capsules. I have to take them daily which I don't like but they help because nothing else does. They are all natural by the way.


 

Douglas, thanks for the info! Most of the writing is above my head but interesting! I plan to buy the book. I do know about Dr Brooke Goldner who advocates smoothies with omega 3's and cruciferous veggies.  I hate smoothies.  I'm hoping in the summer I will like them better.  I freeze in the winter with cold smoothies! I will find a way to stomach the oil otherwise.

Irena, I agree! I have no doubt the dairy is constipating! I have a redundant looping colon, so I always have to take magnesium oxide to go.  Now I have to take even more.  I've always worried about the hormones in dairy, so I'm glad to hear that you don't need it.  Of course, that's after I bought 3 tubs of the stuff!


 

Try making some carrot juices in your day, this usually helps clear out the colon!

I find the constipation interesting as I experienced the opposite. I started with 8/4 ratio because I figured more wouldn't hurt and I was a pretty big guy. I reduced to 100mg/50ml and my stools got a little better but still loose.

I know 6/3 is written in stone, but have often thought that a smaller person should be able to get by with less. I would give 4/2 ratio a try before giving up on the protocol.

I only wish carrot juice would do it.  I pretty much need dynamite.  😆


 


Do you supplement magnesium? It is helpful with d3 as well as constipation if you take enough, or too much.

Yep, take magnesium every night.  It's the only way I can survive.
