Модерується Липкий FMSuite 2.3.4 for SDR# 1920 and newer is now available

Змінено

FMSuite 2.3.4 can be downloaded from http://www.freqmgrsuite.com/. As always, feel free to email me or make a comment on that web site if you have questions or issues.

Known Issues
•    There is an issue in displaying some of the FMSuite plugins immediately after they are enabled in SDR#.  Controls may be displayed out of position, overlaying other controls, or otherwise “mangled”.  If this happens, simply restart SDR# and the plugins should be displayed correctly.  This will be corrected in a future version of FMSuite.
•    In the Data Tools Wizard, the download URLs for most of the online databases are out of date.  When downloading online databases, enter the correct URLs for them in the supplied field. This will be corrected in a future version of FMSuite.
•    The Frequency Data Display is not working at this time.  This will be corrected in a future version of FMSuite.
•    The Scanner Activity Logger is making multiple entries under some conditions.  This will be corrected in a future version of FMSuite.

I'm having many challenges working on FMSuite as my new PC is randomly crashing several times per hour.  Indicators seem to point to the Intel CPU and I'm seeing others on the Web having the same problem.

Hi Jeff,

My previous problem (I had to manually select the theme in order to have the signal description above the spectrum) is solved using the version 2.3.4.

Now I have another problem: The Frequency Data Display doesn't show anything when a frequency existing in the database is selected. The above mentioned information does show above the spectrum so the database record is accessed. The problem happens both using an existing database or a new one created with this version.

Please advise if it is a pilot error.

Best regards,

Ignacio

Hello Ignacio.  This is definitely a bug in the app.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I've had many, many crashes of Visual Studio, the programming environment used to create FMSuite.  The fault creates random BSODs which has made it difficult to do any work.  I'll jump right on this, though, and get the fix out as soon as I can.

Regards,

Jeff

I recommend returning the PC and getting an affordable NUC from ASROCK, via newegg.
https://www.newegg.com/asrock-nuc-box-1165g7/p/N82E16856158073 This pc has no hard drive or ram, so you'll have to order your own.
these machines are reliable, battle tested and have good performance. Go for the slightly older generation that doesn't have E and P cores, so you dont have to use windows 11, and use window 10 LTSC version 21H2.
Use a reliable SSD- https://www.newegg.com/solidigm-1-92tb-d7-p5520/p/N82E16820318002 solidigm bought intel's enterprise brand. these are datacenter reliable drives.
use high speed, reliable memory where you know the modules are matched: https://www.newegg.com/mushkin-enhanced-64gb/p/N82E16820226987?Item=N82E16820226987

The total budget outlay here is $167.99 + $559.99  + $453.99 or 1,187 dollars.
You'd be hard pressed to find a computer this good at this price with this set of features.
The SSD boosts the price considerably but with this you get a SSD that will outlast the computer itself, which you want because that's the one thing you dont want to fail.

best regards

Greetings all,

For anyone trying to use the new FM Suite V2.3.4 plugins, I had trouble loading the plugins and getting them to work.  Doing so resulted in creating a couple of error files.  I reported this to Jeff, the author of FM Suite, and he provided an updated SDRSharp.config which contained a number of entries that were missing from the SDRSharp.config file installed and/or generated by SDRSharp.  Namely, a number of

 <add key="core.xxx…

entries were missing, which prevented the plugins from loading correctly.  After installing the modified SDRSharp.config  file, all of the FM Suite plugins worked fine.

Are these new entries for the plugin? If so, they shouldn't be named core.*

Prog: the core.StepSizes entry wasn't present in the config file.  As far as I know that's the only one that was missing.

Joshua, thanks for the suggestion.  The issue appears to be bugs in some of the 13th and 14th generation CPUs from Intel, so just changing the CPU might solve my problems.  Unfortunately I've been recovering from major surgery and haven't been phyically able to work on fixing the issue.

Hello!
In a fresh install of SDR#1920 core.stepSizes is present.

Peter

I do a fresh install of any update to avoid any issues just like that.
