Keeping this group on the web

Recently the members were asked if they could donate a few bucks to pay the annual groups.io fee.

There are 9355 members of this group, if everyone of them were to donate one (1) dollar to keep this group on the net for an annual fee of $200, this group would be on the net for 9355/200 = 46, that would be 46 years with no requests for donations and the FT-817/ND would probably have faded into amateur radio history by 2070.

If you have benefited in any way from this group, please, donate a couple of bucks to keep it going.

Me too ! I donated because I enjoy the conversations that take place and sometimes very useful.

I was wondering the safest way to donate. I don’t feel comfortable putting a credit card number on groups.io  I am concerned about security

There is a Paypal link.

But perhaps the OP should make clear the "Donation" link says "Sponsor".  I looked for several minutes trying to find something that says donate...

This is the original request/post, be advised, the donation is made by clicking a "sponsor" link

Hi,
just done by using the sponsor link via Paypal,

I can't find the word "sponsor" anywhere on the donation page, and I don't see any option to pay except via credit card, there is no PayPal option.  Can someone direct me to this "sponsor" page?

Go to this link:

Scroll to the bottom of the message, and click the last line of the message that reads:

Regards, Mark.
List Owner/Moderator.
M0NOM

Click Here to View Donation Request

That last line is a clickable link on the page, it takes you to a page that tells of the request, reports how much has been raised so far, and allows you to provide your CC info on that page. The requester says you can contact him directly for alternative methods to donate.

Hope that helps

Ditto

Supporting this group using the Sponsor PayPal option. Thank you for contributions throughout the year. 72, Sandip EI7IJB

Thanks for the replies, but I still don't see a "sponsor" option or a PayPal option, only a place to enter a dollar amount and a credit card number.

if you see that, you have already clicked on the sponsor link.

I only see a $ amount and CC line also. I want to use PayPal too. Maybe on a PC vs iPad will show another option. I’ll look

Hi William,

On the home page of the group there is a green button in the Group information section.

That takes you to the sponsorship page where you enter the amount you want to sponsor and then hit the green Continue button.

That opens the payment options which include entering a credit card or using PayPal using the big PayPal banner at the bottom of the page.

That’s how I did it a few minutes ago.
