Strange Problem (stuck in Pan mode)

I have not used LTSpice in a few months and when I went to use it the schematic editor is misbehaving.  I can place a few components, change the parameters by right clicking when hovering over the component, but when I go to move and individual component by dragging, every thing on the schematic moves.  It's like I am stuck in pan mode.  I've rebooted and reinstalled the software several times.  Running version (x64): 24.0.12  on Windows 11.  I've checked and I don't have any stuck keys.   Other software on this machine works as expected.   Suggestions?

Check your setting for "Automatically scroll the view".

It should be in Settings (Control Panel) > Drafting Options.  If I remember correctly, the default is ON (checked), but your choice is saved, and it is one of the first things I always disable.  I don't like it, but YMMV.

I got it to work.  The behavior of this version is different from what I remember.  You must put it into "move: mode" by clicking the icon or typing M.  It seems to fall out of mode easily and defaults back to "pan" mode.  Anyway thanks for the help and the push.

John

You may not be used to this mode, but it's not unusual.
That's the difference between object mode and command mode.

For example Autocad has used command mode from the beginning to the early 2010's. Now it does both.

iOS tends to promote object mode.
It's a matter of habit.
