Principal Investigator - Albuquerque, NM


 

 

Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI), a cultural resources management (CRM) firm, has one full-time position available for a Principal Investigator (PI) based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. SRI provides comprehensive CRM services to private and government clients at the federal, state, and local levels throughout the western United States from offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Washington.

 

Minimum qualifications and Experience:

 

The ideal candidate will have an MA or MS degree in anthropology with a focus on archaeology, be Register of Professional Archaeologists certified, meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards, and possess a minimum of 10 years of professional experience including the management of surveys, data recovery, and monitoring projects. The position requires the ability to oversee and/or complete data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting tasks with a developed specialization in at least one area of archaeological analyses. The ideal candidate is expected to have the   ability to identify and analyze material culture, possess an applied knowledge of local and regional cultural contexts, and have experience with archaeological classification, cataloging, and recording processes and procedures. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have experience in conducting archival and background research, and literate review and record searches.

 

SRI offers a compensation package that includes an anticipated pay range between $80,000-$100,000, professional development, a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, retirement plan, and paid vacation/sick, and holiday leave. The salary for this exempt position will be commensurate with the applicant’s credentials, experience, and industry standards.

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Manage multiple concurrent archaeological projects and tasks and see projects through from start to completion, including independently completing project set-up and close-out procedures and interacting directly with clients regarding scope, budget, deliverables, and contract compliance, unless the project is part of a multiple-award contract (e.g., IDIQ or MATOC), where a project/program manager assumes some of these duties in collaboration with the PI, per specific contractual requirements

 

  • Oversee and manage staff, organize project logistics, coordinating with Project Directors and Project/Program Managers to implement project goals and objectives, as well as generating and reviewing all project deliverables in compliance with company and professional standards and client/agency requirements

 

 

  • Define project tasks, create task-driven budgets, track resources utilization against budgets and project milestones, progress reporting, and coordinating invoice development and approval, unless the project is part of a multiple-award contract (e.g., IDIQ or MATOC), where a project/program manager assumes some of these duties in collaboration with the PI, per specific contractual requirements

 

  • Author, compile, edit, and produce technical reports and other work products, delegate tasks as necessary, and review project team members’ assigned writing and analyses tasks to ensure that deliverables meet company and professional standards and client/agency requirements; on multiple-award contracts, project/program managers may provide high-level QA/QC on project deliverables

 

  • Prepare and implement research designs, field survey methodologies, and oversee implementation of archaeological field survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery projects
