SDR# r1921 Release Candidate for 2025

Check the latest Release Candidate package of SDR# r1921. Many many structural changes, tons of improvements.
The development will be frozen for new features, and only open for bug fixes. If things go well, this release will be marked for production in the first days of 2025.

Get it from the usual download page: https://airspy.com/download

Happy New Year!

Hi,

I installed it, runs perfectly but I don't see the Extended Radio Settings mentioned in the changelog, I have set the switch to true.

Regards,

Ignacio EB4APL

Prog,

Thanks for the effort this year. I appreciate the inclusion of the rtl-sdr batch in the X64 version.

I downloaded and installed it and have it running on Windows11,  but there seems to be a bug with the RTL-SDR  gain setting.

It allows me to turn  AGC on and off, but the gain slider is greyed out and doesn't work at all so can't adjust the gain manually.
Regards,
Jim

This wasn't checked since ages. But the code hasn't changed either. Make sure your drivers are OK, etc. etc.

Is there a link to the new r1924? I can't seem ti find it.
Thanks!!

I think 1924 was a typo for 1921

Jim,

Just checked on both the x86 and the x64 (executables from 2024-12-28) versions
and with both AGCs disabled the gain control works as expected. I ran the
supplied install-rtlsdr.bat program, at least on the x64 version. Tested with
an RTL-SDR.COM v3 dongle purchased in July-2022.

Cheers,
David

More info about this:

I have noted that the buttons "Correct IQ" and "Invert Spectrum" have disappeared  from the Radio panel on all published incarnations of r1921.

These were moved to the Source panel.

Thank you Prog for adding client side buffering in SDR# for Spyserver connections. It has helped greatly with my earlier reported issues with non full IQ narrow band streaming.

I have now downloaded both the 86 and 64 versions.
Ran the install rtlsdr bat file and zadig, and now both working fine, including the gain slider.
Don't know what I did wrong the first time.  Thanks for all the help. What is the difference between the Dotnet8 and Dotnet9 programs?

Jim,

Glad to hear that the RTL_SDR is working correctly.

The difference is that one uses an earlier version of .Net and the other a later
version. Just means that is you don't yet have the .Net9 runtimes you don't
(yet) need to download and install it.

David

I am also planning a self-contained dotnet 8 build for the "clinically dead" plugins, ie. ones that are no longer maintained. This build doesn't need a dotnet 8 installation.
