Window Position Saving for Startup 5.10

Has there been a change to how window positions/sizes are stored? On startup panels are always in the same  place, even if they were moved/resized in the last session. This behavior is seen even if the project is saved before shutdown.

It happened in 4.15.6 and caught me out.

In Preferences, Display, GUI tick "Use legacy location and size logic for editor panels".
Then the panels will follow any changes in position in the xml file.

I think it was changed for those who use a single layout, where as I deal with changing modular layouts.
I'm not sure what the advantage of the newer method are as I never had problems with the old.

Does this apply to all windows or only panel windows?  If only panel windows, see if "Preferences -> Display -> Use legacy location and size logic for editor windows" is enabled.

If all windows are affected, make sure that you don't have any Windows 11 desktop features such as window snapping enabled.

Thanks, that fixes it. Funny though as I’ve been running 5.x for ages and I must have had that ticked before!
