VTPro error: "Crestron app themes not installed"

New install on Windows 10, everything is working except compiling Crestron App projects. VTPro says: "[ error ]: Crestron app themes not installed."

What is that referring to?  I can compile other SmartGraphics panels, so that's not the problem.  The theme (Neo) is installed.  VTPro is running as administrator, UAC is off.

What am I missing?

Is the theme selected in your App project Neo? Was it built on a different machine with more themes?

Custom theme, built on a different machine.  I thought I knew how to install themes, but apparently not.  Somewhere along the line I had written down a different path for installing core3_theme files, and they almost work right when you install them there... for everything except Crestron App projects, apparently.  Installing the core3_theme file in the correct c:\ProgramData\Crestron\Core3\UserThemes folder allowed it to work correctly.

Thanks for reminding me to check my assumptions...

Open the theme in Studio and recompile. I've had to do this before when moving a theme between machines.

So I had to get a new machine and am running into the same problem but slightly different.  I have a few projects that are just built off the CT_Neo standard theme.  Nothing too fancy.  Now anytime I try to compile ANY Crestron app file from the new installation, I get the same error:  Crestron app themes not installed.

I've even gone ahead and re-compiled the Neo theme and confirmed it is in the hidden Program Data folder although this is a standard Crestron theme.  I tried changing the theme to others just to see what happens and I can't compile any of them.  Anyone run into this?

Just re-install smart graphic controls, that should fix it.

The easiest way to transfer a theme is to export the VT project as an archive and import the archive on the new machine.  The archive contains the theme.

yes, make sure you run it as administrator (installing crestron themes)

The solution is to uninstall SmartGraphics 2.17, install SmartGraphics 2.15, and then reinstall SmartGraphics 2.17. It now seems to hang for about 30 seconds during the compile, but it does successfully make it to the end after those steps.

Worked for me too.

https://www.crestron.com/Software-Firmware/Software/VisionTools-153;-Pro-e/Crestron-Smart-Graphics-trade;-Controls/2-17-01-01 in case anyone else runs into this.  Just download and run installer, it apparently replaces whatever got lost.

Just to add my experience...
I just migrating to a new PC and had this issue as well. standard CT_Neo, missing for Crestron App.
I uninstalled v2.19, installed v2.15 then v2.17 directly from their exe's, and then used MI to update to v2.19 (along with updating the CreDB and D3 to the latest).
This fixed the issue for me...

I wonder if v2.19 (and maybe v2.17) have missing CT_Neo files???

I also found that the VTpro play button will work for making XPanels if you start with 2.15.006. I thought the feature was broken for years, but there is an online help about it.
