Newbie to the world of RF here. I'm an archaeologist, looking into potential solutions for building a DIY ground penetrating radar system. From what I have gathered, a VNA can be deployed as a GPR, particularly a FMCW or SFCW. I'm honestly probably going to keep things in the 400-1000mhz range. And I'll likely be running whatever unit I purchase as a USB device attached to a mobile computer.

I'd like some advice on if I should choose the V2 or the Lite versions. Which has better software support? I like all of the LiteVNA upgrades, but I've read that there might be some noise issues on the LITEVNA (compared to v2) and that it only has one mixer (I'm not sure if this matters).
