FOSTER-ADOPT- BANDIT-F5- MOUNT PENN, PA
Poor Bandit needs a loving patient home, preferably soon!
Bandit is a 12 year old F5 who we recently posted needing an emergency foster because his elderly owners were unable to take him with them on their move. We found a foster home but drama ensued when that foster contacted his previous vet and found out he had a aggression/bite label on his file. Apparently they have never experienced a cat that is normally fine but freaks out at the vet. The former owner fully explained the situation but the foster refused to believe the owner and demanded we remove this "dangerous" cat asap. Poor Bandit had spent those days hunched over barely eating and refusing to play with the foster, never showing any actual signs that could be interpreted as aggression. Poor misunderstood Bandit.
More discussion with his previous owner and Bandit is a sensitive soul, he doesn't do well with change. He takes gabapentin for travel and the vet (like numerous cats of all breeds do nowadays). He takes time to warm up to new people. He's said to be smart and nosy, loves to play with zip ties and chase bugs. He was said to be talkative but I think that will take Bandit feeling more relaxed than he is right now. Interestingly, he was fully toilet-trained although he does use a litterbox when offered one.
Over the years, Bandit has lived with various family members (kids, grandkids, siblings, niece) and dogs and even a pet pig. Hence we feel he could work in many households with the patience to give him time to adapt. He has not lived with other cats, with his stated nervousness and timid nature he probably should only be an option if the other cat is docile and easygoing, not confident and dominant.
Bandit's world has come crashing down. In our need to find a fast solution to the nightmare foster home, he has had to be housed in a large cage at a wonderful rescue group in Mount Penn, PA. Bless them for opening up the space to get him safely housed.
We hate to have to change Bandit's living situation yet again, but his current place is a temporary measure. We would love to find either a foster that can give him the time to decompress and settle, a foster-to-adopt home or even an adoptive home that will give him the time he needs.
Please email us at info@... if you have the right home for Bandit, and are able to travel to Mount Penn, PA. Obviously with all the stress in this cat's life we are not going to put him in cargo to ship him anywhere!

ADOPTED: Meet Maleficent: Spirited, Loving, and Ready for Her Perfect Match - LOS ANGELES, CA
ADOPTED: MALEFICENT WILL BE GOING TO HER NEW HOME THIS WEEKEND!
Meet Maleficent: Spirited, Loving, and Ready for Her Perfect Match - LOS ANGELES, CA
Maleficent is a striking 2-year-old F2 Savannah cat with a personality as bold as her spots. Found in a feral cat colony on the streets of Los Angeles, she’s been on quite the journey—including multiple shelter stays—before finding her way to us when her owner failed to come for her the fourth time. Now, with her boundless energy and heart full of love, Maleficent is ready to find a forever home that truly understands her unique needs.
Why Maleficent Will Steal Your Heart
• Affectionate & Playful: She loves being with her people and will happily demand attention when she wants it.
• Energetic & Athletic: From zipping around on her One Fast Cat wheel to playing with mylar crinkle balls, she’s always up for a good time.
• Great Habits:
• Excellent litter box manners (using a Litter Robot 3).
• Drinks from a fountain—hydration is key!
• Leaves your toilet paper alone (a Savannah miracle).
• Social Butterfly: Confident around new people, she’s always ready to explore and never hides.
Maleficent’s Unique Quirks
Maleficent is deeply affectionate but can become overstimulated. Before starting Prozac, her intensity could feel overwhelming, even a little scary, to her foster. She wasn’t being aggressive out of malice—she simply loved too much, too hard, and didn’t know how to express it in healthy ways. Since starting Prozac, she’s found her balance, channeling that passion into playful, loving behavior that’s much easier to manage.
This backstory is important because Maleficent’s adopter needs to be someone who understands and respects her boundaries. While she’s doing wonderfully now, her big personality requires someone with patience, confidence, and experience with energetic cats.
The Perfect Home for Maleficent
Maleficent thrives in an environment that matches her boldness and charm:
• No Small Cats, Please: While she might tolerate a larger, confident early-generation male Savannah, has shown she can be, shall we say, overly enthusiastic with smaller companions.
• Dog-Friendly: A medium-to-large-sized dog would be an ideal playmate.
• Calm Household: No small children, as her intensity may be too much for them.
A Forever Home for Maleficent
Maleficent is the kind of cat who will keep life exciting—whether she’s scaling new heights in search of adventure or curling up in the sun to recharge. She’s a one-of-a-kind companion, full of love and personality, and she’s ready to meet her match.
By adopting Maleficent, you’re not just getting a cat—you’re gaining a true partner who will enrich your life with laughter, love, and plenty of unforgettable moments.
Contact us today to meet Maleficent and see if she’s the queen you’ve been searching for! Her adoption fee will be $200 and you should email us at info@... with your location and describing how your home is perfect for this amazing girl.
(P.S. She won’t destroy your toilet paper or leave faucets dripping—she’s far too sophisticated for that.)

FOR ADOPTION - F6 SBT SPAYED FEMALE SAVANNAH - 8 YO - MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA
FOR ADOPTION - F6 SBT SPAYED FEMALE SAVANNAH - 8 YO - MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA
Savi is beautiful 8 yo Savannah female needing a stable, loving home. Her owners have a new baby AND new dog and the new dog is chasing her. She got along with their older, small dog, who died, but was likely not introduced properly to the new dog. They want to rehome her.
Savi is said to be loving, friendly and longing for attention. Her litterbox habits are fine, but she is also toilet trained. She will likely do ok with a laid back cat or small dog. She is said to do ok with children over 5. She loves to play and fetch bottle caps. Savi is UTD on vaccines.
Her breeder is no longer breeding and not interested in helping.
If you can give Savi a loving home, please email us at info@... with a description of your home and household and why you would make a good fit for Savi. She will need a room of her own to decompress and acclimate. Please include whether you can meet that need as well.

ADOPTED - F1 - KHALIA - GREENSBORO, NC
ADOPTED - F1 - KHALIA - GREENSBORO, NC
KAHLIA IS IN HER NEW HOME!!!
Khalia came to us via APC of Durham who were unable to deal with her (not least because F1s are not legal in that city), she had been dumped with a deputy when the shelter had refused to take her. Khalia has a complicated history and this likely has contributed to her behavior showing lack of trust in humans.
Khalia was born in the UK and imported as an older kitten to a breeder in the US. When she didn't work out as a breeding cat she was resold this past March to a pet buyer newly spayed (and shipped cross country). After six months of failing to touch Khalia he gave up.
All of this change and traumatic journeys has obviously left Khalia unimpressed with humans. We don't know how well-socialized she was as a kitten, but she does not wish to be touched or handled now. However, she has been quite at home in her foster's bedroom, although she has chewed holes in a bedspread probably out of boredom.
Khalia was a scary hissy monster at the shelter, typically that kind of environment can upset sensitive cats like Savannahs and Khalia is every bit an F1 at that. Still, because the foster is experienced with Savannahs, she actually went fairly easily into a large dog crate. This indicates that handled calmly and expertly she is not unmanageable, but also a warning that a new owner needs to be calm and capable with difficult cats.
Khalia LOVES to play with wand toys, but is very hard on them. The Da Bird lasted seconds. She will need sturdier options like a short horse lunge whip or dog chase toy. Khalia has done well on a kibble diet. She has good litterbox habits also.
It's really important to understand the challenge that is Khalia. She does NOT wish to be touched and if cornered will lash out. She likely will need to be sedated with gabapentin to be crated and taken to a vet. Khalia is a large F1 and the foster estimates at least 20lbs.
F1s don't take change well, and Khalia has had more change and upset than most. A home needs to understand the different challenge of an F1 versus other generations of Savannah. They also need to understand and accept that it may take months or even years for Khalia to come around. Patience and understanding can work wonders but we would prefer a home with the kindness and understanding that might accept that Khalia might never allow petting or handling.
We don't know how she would be with other cats or dogs. She has been hissy at the cats at the foster's home but not aggressive. She would likely accept non-confrontational cats with a super-patient lengthy introduction. Because she cannot be touched, you would need to manage that slowly and thoughtfully.
Khalia is gorgeous but a long-term project. She would need her own space for a long time. We do not think she should be in a home with young children (younger than 10 year olds). I'm sure she would like a catio or enclosure if possible.
If you think that you would like to take Khalia on as a project, please email us at info@... and tell us your location, about your household and how you might be a great candidate for her home. We will need to be persuaded that you understand the challenge, not just told that you do. Be descriptive! Khalia is available for a $200 adoption fee.

ADOPTED - EST. F4 FEMALE SV ETSA - PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL
ADOPTED - EST. F4 FEMALE SV ETSA - PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL
ETSA IS NOW A SPOILED CONTENTED KITTY IN HER NEW HOME!!
Etsa is a gorgeous Savannah that was down on her luck and we wish to turn her life around with a great new home. We have estimated from looks that she is F4 but she easily could be F3 with those huge ears and big puffy nose.
Etsa was found by a kind cat rescuer in a gas station parking lot, very very thin. She had a microchip that gave some history, she had been dumped at animal control 8 weeks beforehand, adopted out after two weeks but surviving outside there only 6 weeks later.
Etsa had terrible diarrhea and it has taken some time to get that under control, and it appears that she needs a special Rx diet, Hill's Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome Stress kibble has done the trick for her and her stools are now normal. Her fecal PCR test is negative for everything and she has been fully vaccinated (and already spayed). A new home must be prepared to keep her on this diet, or work with their vet to change to another sensitive diet.
Etsa is being fostered by a cat rescuer, and it is apparent that she does not like other cats very much. Their opinion is that she should be an only cat. We would think that a slow thoughtful introduction to a well-behaved medium to large dog should work. She loves people, the rescuer thought older kids should be great with her. We don't know if she is used to children so wouldn't recommend babies or toddlers.
If you are located near West Palm Beach, FL and think that Etsa would be happy in your home, please email us at info@... to give us your location and tell us why Etsa is going to love your home. Her adoption fee will be $200.

FOR ADOPTION - 5 YO LEO - F5 MALE NEUTERED - CUMBERLAND COUNTY, MAINE
Leo is said to be an amazing boy, who loves people and just wants love and attention. His owner states she travels alot and Leo is not getting the attention or love he deserves and needs, so he is suffering from anxiety and allegedly urinating on chairs. Medication may help in this situation for anxiety.
Leo is sweet and will do well in a home with one or two other cats to keep him company (his F1 friend was abruptly removed from the house, compounding his anxiety and loneliness) and someone who will be around and willing to give Leo the attention and love he craves.
He is up to date on vaccines.
Adoption Fee - $150 Breeder Paperwork will be supplied
No shipping but travel to tri-state area would work If you would like a wonderful, sweet, Savannah boy who needs a loving home, please email info@...

UPDATE - FOSTER FOUND - MODESTO, CA
UPDATE - DAISY HAS A FOSTER AND WILL BE PICKED UP TOMORROW FROM THE SHELTER
URGENT - FOSTER NEEDED BY 26TH OCTOBER - MODESTO, CA
Daisy is a 1.5 year old F7 intact female Savannah. She was trapped at a feral colony and brought to Animal Control. Unfortunately during that process, she bit someone and is now on a bite hold until the 26th October.
AC will release to the owner but potentially to Rescue, given that the owner has left the state and is not responding to any efforts to contact them. It appears from information gleaned from an out-of-state family member that Daisy escaped from the house as the owner moved out and we are unsure how long she was surviving outdoors.
It seems possible that the owner did not spay Daisy as contracted, and thus we are looking for a foster home only so that we can take care of that before adopting her out.
If you are within driving distance of Modesto and able to pick her up on the 26th October (or soon after potentially), and have a spare room available to foster this lovely girl, please email us at info@... and tell us about your home.

FOSTERED -F2 AND F6 BONDED MALES - SEBASTOPOL, CA
FOSTERED -F2 AND F6 BONDED MALES - SEBASTOPOL, CA
BARNABAS AND ZAIRE ARE IN THEIR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME AND ARE SETTLING IN.
Barnabus(Barney, F6) and Zaire (F2) are a bonded pair of neutered Savannah males. They are currently being held by a rescue group in Sebastopol, CA but they have listened to the wishes of the breeder and are allowing us to find them a new place to call home.
Barney and Zaire's owner has recently died. Obviously this was traumatic for them, as well as the disruption being transferred to the rescue group. Barnabus will be 3 years old in November, and Zaire is 16 months old. Barney is said to be sweet but overwhelmed. Zaire is reported to have been shy and skittish since kittenhood, and all this change is not helping. He is also reported to have occasional respiratory issues. We do not believe any testing has been done, so whether this is a viral issue or allergies we cannot say.
These boys need some quiet and some patience. We know that they would have been raised around other cats and dogs in the breeder's home but they would need to settle and bond to you before any introductions. We need a home that can drive to Sebastapol, CA and will consider both foster, adoptive or foster-to-adopt homes at this time. Given the shy nature of Zaire, we would not consider these boys a good fit for younger children, or highly active households.
If you are within reach, and able to give these boys a quiet room for some time, please contact us at info@... . We would want to know your location, a good description of your household and why you think your home would be a good landing place for Barnabus and Zaire.

F4 - Franklin NC - RARE FIND!

Watson is a rare find in rescue! He has great litter box habits, good with cats & dogs and is VERY affectionate! See below for details!
Watson is a 4 year old F4 Male Savannah located in Franklin, North Carolina. He was surrendered to rescue through no fault of his own. His original owners had a change in circumstances and could no longer keep him. He was being fostered by a friend of the owner and is now in Savannah Cat Rescue's care for placement.
Watson is currently living with a SCR foster and he is doing very well. Watson's foster said is affectionate and did well with her dog. The original foster stated he was friendly and playful and could scratch (little) when over excited with playing. The current foster has not had any issues with scratching or nipping.
Watson is a healthy, neutered boy. Up to date on all his shots. Good litterbox habits!
Watson's forever home should be located within a reasonable driving distance to Franklin, NC. No shipping. He would do well with a dog or cat. He has not been in a home with any children. A home with older children (7+) would be acceptable.
If you think you are the perfect fit for Watson, please email us at info@.... Please make sure to include details regarding your home and how your home would fit his needs.

PENDING - 75%HP F1 MALE - MEDFORD, OR
PENDING - 75%HP F1 MALE - MEDFORD, OR
AFTER A FLOOD OF OFFERS, WE HAVE CHOSEN TUCKER'S NEW HOME.
Tucker is an outrageously gorgeous F1 male, due to having an F1 mom as well as Serval dad. But please don't let that blind you to the challenges of living with such an amazing creature. Tucker will be more like living with a Serval than living with a Savannah cat.
Tucker is still young and adaptable, so kudos to his owner for surrendering him now versus waiting it out longer. Tucker turned 1 year old this month, he is neutered and vaccinated and has no health issues. He is located in Medford, OR.
Tucker is being rehomed because his owner is overwhelmed caring for his older F1 brother who has serious health issues. Because of this his brother is smaller and weaker and Tucker is young and rambunctious and overwhelming. The cats have had to be kept separated and this has not improved with time.
Tucker is an active and social boy, he LOVES to play and to play hard. He pulverizes cardboard, he tries to grab toys before you so watch your fingers. He has all his claws and is too wriggly to clip with just one person. Tucker has been around 6-10 year old children and played well but they must know how to behave around a very active cat. Tucker hasn't been around other cats or dogs but likely would adapt well with the right introduction. He's a LOT of cat so would not be suitable for older less active type of pets. Use common sense when thinking about your own household before reaching out to us.
Because Tucker is an F1 Savannah (and in reality MORE than that), he's not your average Savannah. Please don't assume he would fit in just like any other Savannah. Please research Serval ownership and use that as a basis for how Tucker will be like when grown up (which would be at ~4 years of age). We would highly prefer an adopter that has had early generation SV experience, but also understands that this is a greater challenge. Don't just tell us you know, explain to us so we can tell you understand.
Tucker is located in Medford, OR. We would prefer a home that is able to pick him up in person BUT the owner is prepared to drive a little towards a new home OR she is even prepared to ship Tucker if the home is fabulous for him. She knows as we do that his new home is not easy to find! If interested in shipping, do some research into cargo routes into Medford as the owner will not be enthusiastic about multiple layovers and there are only limited nonstop flights from this airport.
If you have read all that, and think you are the home for Tucker, please email us at info@... with your location and all the information we need on your household and why you are the home for Tucker. His adoption fee will be $500.

AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER - F2 Female - Southern California
Please read carefully!
Beautiful Khali is 1.5 years old and has faced strange health issues since being purchased from her original breeder (Enchanted Savannahs) by Coachella Savannahs. Rather than work to diagnose these issues, Khali was sold by Coachella Savannahs to a pet home who can no longer care for her. Neither breeder will take Khali back. Khali needs a foster with experience with early generation Savannahs and patience while she gets an appropriate diagnosis. She suffers from itchy spots and can have diarrhea . Savannah Cat Rescue will pay for her vet bills in her foster home. Khali can be nippy, and does not seem to like small children, dogs or other cats. We are unsure if she would eventually adapt to a dog or another cat. When in discomfort or stress, she will refuse to use the litterbox. She is a stunning young F2 female, but a "project" cat due to her unresolved health issues. We will NOT ship Khali and you must be able to drive to Temecula, CA to retrieve her. For the right applicant who is willing to work through the health issues and current behavioral problems, Khali could be a wonderful lifelong companion. Savannah boy Available in Ontario Canada
Here is Roxas !! This fearless boy is your typical Savannah. A perfect nickname for him would me "Mr. Underfoot" . He wants to be with you always ! He is good in the car, walks on a leash, has been show cat in a past life so used to crowds and noise and lots of attention.
The negatives.. you cannot do housework with him around. He is a big HELPER ! he will be right in the way , trying to grab the nozzle of vacuum, your cleaning clothes, ride on your shoulder or back. He is a real pain in the A** . Recommend to put him into another room if you want to read a book, clean the house or build a puzzle. But if you want someone to keep you busy and entertained he is your man ! He loves to play with almost any toy including paper bags.
He is a sturdy F7 savannah and 6 yrs old with good litterbox habits. Due to no fault of his own he needs a new home. He is located in the Kingston area of Ontario Canada. Being an F7 Savannah, arrangements could be made for him to cross the Canadian-USA border. He was rehomed recently but that home did not work out because he started scratching his new owner. He had never done this in his previous home but had a scare when he first arrived at his new home and was taking a long time to settle down from that and feel safe again. He was also rehomed with a female savannah and his old habits of being a breeding cat when young may have caused him to be more protective because she was there ? We can only guess what set this off. To be cautious you could put some "soft claws" on him until he feels secure in. his new home. You can google these and see how well they work. They might be a fashion fail for stud-ly man-ly cats but they do work well to prevent accidental scratches. Because of this behaviour he may not be a suitable cat for a family with young children or other cats.
This is not normal behaviour for a savannah or for him and he would do it almost out of the blue. So this is full disclosure. He may do well in a home with a dog to keep him entertained ? he is quite active. If you are interested in Roxas please write Teresa at info@...
His adoption fee is $200 (Please do not REPLY to the io groups email)

Re: [Owner] Re: [SavannahCatRescue] F2 Savannah Girl available in Ottawa Ontario Canada
Hi Margaret, thank you for your long and very detailed letter. You sound like a great home and a great Owner. Of course the problem is going to be the transportation and it’s a big problem. Because Momo is an F2 she needs to have a lot of paperwork done to be able to cross an international border. Regulated the regulated She is regulated, the same as a full serval would be regulated and need cites paperwork done plus fish and wildlife inspections at the border. with our cats that are in rescue we just don’t have that kind of time this can take months. I am so sorry as I was very excited reading your letter but it’s just not going to work. Thank you again, Teresa.

F2 Savannah Girl available in Ottawa Ontario Canada
** update thank you everyone for your interest in Momo. She has now found her new home. **Introducing Momo to our savannah rescue community. We are seeking a special owner and we know you are out there! Have you ever owned a cat that was distrusting to the point of acting scared in your home ? have you ever worked to help a street rescue cat calm down and become suitable for a family home ? Have you ever had a cat that liked to spend their time with the other household cats more than with you? If you can answer YES ! to any of these questions you might be the perfect home for Momo.
Momo means "dumpling" and she may have been a dumpling at some point in her life but now she 8 yrs young and is long and lean and elegant.
Momo is a beautiful F2 Savannah so has some of the serval quirks from her grandfather, and one of them being that she is reserved about bonding to new people. Due to unfortunate circumstances (owner health) this is the 4th home for Momo. Please be her last home ! When she was young and impressionable her owners were unable to spend the time required to bond with her and that is why she has grown up to be this aloof beauty.
She is not suitable for a home with active young children looking for a cuddly savannah pet that can be walked on a leash and dressed up by the children. She is looking for a quiet home that doesn't have a lot of people coming and going. She would be a lovely (although distant) companion for someone working from home.
At times she will engage with fishing rod toys and have a game with you. She also likes to be in the room with you especially if you are preparing dinner ! She likes to have a conversation with humans and she enjoys the companionship of other cats (with proper slow introductions) she would probably be ok with a non threatening mellow dog in her new home, but again she will need slow introductions to any other pets in the home.
Momo has clean litter habits and enjoys a variety of foods including raw, canned and kibble. She doesn't need a large area to live in, but she does love high places. She will always choose the top of the scratching post or try to get on top of the kitchen cabinets and watch the household from there. She also enjoys watching the outdoors by sitting at the window. Momo may never return your affection, but with patience, you will probably see some improvement in her trust levels over time, don’t take it personally if she doesn’t warm up to you.
Momo Does not want to be put in a crate for traveling so in some cases, she may need to be sedated for example going to the vet office . She is already spayed and vaccinated so shouldn't be requiring any vet visits in the near future.
This exotic girl is located in the Ottawa area of Ontario Canada. Due to her high percentage of serval blood she would not be suitable to cross the border as time consuming paperwork would need to be done for her to cross an international border. Momo's adoption fee is $200. Please write Teresa if you would like to be considered for her at info@...

Persephone has been adopted!
Persephone is once again looking for a forever home. She originally came into our rescue a year ago. She had been abandoned by the owner. She had been living in a small cage and needed a bit of time to decompress. She lived with our wonderful foster for a few months and was ready for her new home. She had been adopted out but due to the family’s living situation changing, she can no longer stay with her new family.
Persephone is in good health. She is declawed but is good with the litter box. Persephone is looking for a quiet home, no cats and maybe one small dog. Children 10 and older. She is very skittish so a busy home is not good. Not a lap cat but will come sit by you for company. With time she may become a lap cat…this is unknown. This girl deserves a patient loving home!
