Re: SDR# r1921 Release Candidate for 2025
I like your original version of it. Of course, YouTubers with big channels sometimes mumble about two digit peta byte drives. (14 digits.) And indeed, maybe 25,000 SDRSharp installs will fit on a 1 terrible byte drive. {^_-} Joanne On 20241230 17:04:29, Jim Middleton via

Re: SDR# r1921 Release Candidate for 2025
I put all the different SdrSharp versions in their own subdirectories with shortcuts on the homepage to each as some old plugin's won't work with the newer versions. That way, if I need a specific plugin I can run that version. With terrible size disks storage isn't a problem, and you can run different versions of SdrSharp at the same time if you want and have the SDR's.

Question: If I install the 'release candidate' of v1921 now, will I have to reinstall SDR# from scratch when the 'production version' becomes available? Or will replacing SDRSharp.exe be sufficient? If you unzip the new version in a different temporary folder, delete the default configaration file, and then move all the remaining files to the permanent SDR# folder, all should be fine. I do this all the time when installing betas.
If you use an RTL-SDR Blog stick, you may need to run the RTL bat file again.

Re: SDR# r1921 Release Candidate for 2025
That's a trick question. Since you can have as many SDRSharp installs as you want within the space limitations on your hard disk. I have a couple dozen versions ready to run when I want. I don't use them often. They're just there in case I want to go way back. Each time I download a new version I create two copies of it. One I leave unchanged. I copy a full set of .config files into the other from the rolling install I have. Then I delete rolling install and rename the updated copy to plain "sdrsharp". Every once and awhile this doesn't work and I have to copy the newly installed config files into the rolling install and play with settings until I like it again. Um, I also have a "KUSC" install. I seldom change it. I have it
running all the time for background music. (After all, disk space
is free these days. My old M20 Morrow Designs Discus system and
two 19 MB drive cost over a kilobuck and today that 38 megabytes
costs pocket fluff. And that is real close to the size of an
SDRSharp install.) {^_^} On 20241230 11:04:11, Magpie via

Maybe quadrature detectors can help when two NBFM stations are nearly on the same frequency. If you can provide a wideband .wav file I could make some testing to see if this idea could be useful. 73 Leif Serious DXer of the FM Broadcast Band, who has used FM Co-Channel Canceller |
Re: SDR# r1921 Release Candidate for 2025
Good afternoon. I am looking forward to the production version of v1921.
Question: If I install the 'release candidate' of v1921 now, will I have to reinstall SDR# from scratch when the 'production version' becomes available? Or will replacing SDRSharp.exe be sufficient?
Happy New Year to you all.

I have now downloaded both the 86 and 64 versions.Jim, Glad to hear that the RTL_SDR is working correctly. The difference is that one uses an earlier version of .Net and the other a later version. Just means that is you don't yet have the .Net9 runtimes you don't (yet) need to download and install it. I have now downloaded both the 86 and 64 versions. Ran the install rtlsdr bat file and zadig, and now both working fine, including the gain slider. Don't know what I did wrong the first time. Thanks for all the help. What is the difference between the Dotnet8 and Dotnet9 programs? Jim

I have.Jim, Just checked on both the x86 and the x64 (executables from 2024-12-28) versions and with both AGCs disabled the gain control works as expected. I ran the supplied install-rtlsdr.bat program, at least on the x64 version. Tested with an RTL-SDR.COM v3 dongle purchased in July-2022. The drivers still work with r1920 fine. Slider works fine in it.
