Roger Johnson passing
All, As some of you have no doubt heard, Roger Johnson passed away last friday. A Celebration of Life will be held for Roger on January 4th 2025, at 11 AM at the Fulmont Community Church in Gloversville. Hopefully some of the 602 members who knew Roger can attend, I am sure the Johnson family would appreciate it. Obituary below (thanks for sharing this Darryl): Roger Neal Johnson, 83 (1941 - 2024), embarked on an eternal adventure on December 13, 2024, surrounded by family. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Doris Anne (Diakun) Johnson; five children: Christopher (Abigail), Kimberly (Thomas) Bonafede, Todd (Jeannie), Sara (the late David) Palmateer, and Amy (Travis) Teale; ten grandchildren: Alista, Michael, Ashley, Zachary, Dakota, Chase, Jesse, Charley, Wyatt, and Ayla; and one great-granddaughter, Ariana. Roger was a graduate of Clarkson University (BS) and RPI (MS). As a design engineer for GE Research and Development, he was awarded 20 patents as co-inventor. He was a small plane pilot and an owner of two antique autos. Roger tutored many children in math and took many children up for their first plane ride through the EAA Young Eagles Program. He was also a deacon, church bus driver, and Sunday school teacher for various area churches. Roger was a member of Fulmont Community Church in Gloversville where he rang the ancient church bell every Sunday with his helpers, Mac and Stella.

At the last meeting we discussed club photos... Thinking about it... While I don't have the club's complete history... I do have the pictures that I have taken since becoming a member. It may take me a while to add them to my web page... but I have made a small start.. My web page: https://www.rebedard.com/RayB_EAA602/index_1.htm Now has a section with pictures from 2021. The Poker Run, My Glider ride with Tim, a Piseco Breakfast, and a 602 meeting at Fulton county... When I have time, (hahaha--good intentions) I'll add some from earlier years.. RayB...

After a great event on the 28th and all the great pics that Wanita shared on facebook... I just wondering if I should share my pics to Facebook instead of creating web pages... It just seems that Facebook seems to be more officially EAA602 than my little world... Thoughts ? RayBedard

Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome
21
I can not believe a Chapter that is supposed to be interested in aviation has no interest in seeing the roots/beginnings of aviation at this place. It seems that there is very little interest in taking a road trip together on a nice weather Sunday to take in the museum and an amazing airshow performance and good food. I will put out the suggestion once more. Please reply if anyone is interested. I for one have room for 3 more in my vehicle Any body? Bob Anderson Blue sky and green grass!

Just an idea

Would there be any interest in a car pool road trip to old Rhinebeck Aerodrome for the day, museum and airshow on a Sunday? Blue sky and green grass!
