Hello to Group Members. I am the very happy owner of a Palstar R30A receiver and I am thinking of purchasing a second one, secondhand. The secondhand R30A will be for portable ops whilst caravanning with my wife and something for myself to do during an evening or early morning. Having no knowledge about the LA 30 other than the one eHam review. The plan was to use the LA30 with R30A together to chase down Tropical Band Broadcasts and possibly NDBs another subject I know nothing about as well. Location is South East Australia in the State of Victoria. Considering the length of the eastern coastline of some 4,000 plus kilometres would the LA30 be a worth while effective purchase whilst we travel. I also know nothing about Tropical Band DX.
