ID-buzz? 8
They're here... Has anyone checked em out yet? Cool exterior and interior and AWD performance but poor range and bad cold weather range and poor nav and other software and miserably unreliable charging options is the "buzz". A vw van you can't comfortably road trip in,? Come on!

Eurovan Winnebago conversion in the local junk yard 16
Hello Group, There is a Winnebago Eurovan camper in the junkyard near me. I was thinking about pulling some items. My big question was, did all of these have the longer wheelbase? I was thinking about cutting off the roof for a future camper conversion on my GLS. But I recall the Winnebago conversion had a longer wheel base? My van is a 99 and this junkyard specimen is a 2002, if that makes any difference. When I go back next week I can measure, for sure, but I was just wondering if this is a simple question. It is mostly complete inside, which is sad. Seems like it sat for a while, there is mice damage / smelss kind of bad inside. There is no engine and maybe had some front end damage. Let me know, Thanks.

1993 EV - Southern California - exhaust manifold 4
Does anybody know of a repair shop in Southern California that has done or is confirmed willing to do exhaust manifold work on a 1993 EV? I've taken my EV to two shops, and neither of them want to touch it. I'm told my exhaust manifold has a crack/leak. I've sourced a spare. I'm tempted to try it myself, but I don't have anybody to assist, prob missing some tools, and have never done anything like this before.

Eurovan Repair shops 8
after reading posts mentioning the growing paucity of reliable shops, I thought I'd put in a word for three I've had excellent experiences: MAG VW Dublin,OH This is my hometown dealer I've worked with the service manager Stan Ralph for 40 years of different VW's. I'm sure that familiarity helps. Developing a relationship one primary advisor and having mechanics with years of experience helps. They have gone above and beyond what most places would do whether I'm in town or somewhere on the road to help and often work with on the phone a shop somewhere to help me out. Konstruct Performance Inc Santa Fe,NM The above mentioned Stan Ralph called them to plead my case with this VW/Audio only independent shop. Here's my review: 1997 VW Eurovan full camper Visiting Santa Fe from Ohio when check engine light came on and engine stated missing. Checked the codes with my handy code reader(27 year old vehicle, good to carry one). Code said cylinders misfiring. Checked with 3 VW dealers and 4 independent shops in SF and Albuquerque. Konstruct was the only one that even works on Eurovans. They were scheduled 3 weeks out but brought me in for a diagnostic, offered to get the parts and had me fixed and on the road in 3 days. Great to work with, costs were right on the estimate. Cannot recommend them enough. Integrity Import Service, Grawn, MI (Traverse City) Another independent shop welcoming Eurovans with excellent reputation. I'm fortunate to have a second home near Grayling,MI where I also store the EVC winters. I've used them for routine service and to track down dreaded check engine lights. They are very accommodating. Even give you a free loner car. One note. If it's a CEL they have a standard $300 fee to find the problem. The actual repair cost is on top of that. I hope this info may be of help. If you do happen to go to MAG, ask for Celsea. She's my current service advisor and mention my name: Elden Apling. It couldn't hurt. Before Chelsea, I had Bobby C. who spent a lot of time talking to shops around the country to find the best option to rebuild my transmission. E

Parts Suppliers 8
The recent thread re EVC value morphing into parts and repair reminded me. I've had good luck getting parts from suppliers on ebay that weren't available from our US suppliers. Germany, Latvia, UK Salvage suppliers on ebay also frequently have one offs. E

2003 2.8 Eurovan upshifts are hard if I lift my foot before 4th gear 2
Search Community Home Forums VW Model-Specific Forums Vans and Transporters - all years 2003 T4 2.8 transmission upshifts are hard,..when foot lifted Tags None Jump to LatestUnfollow 1 - 1 of 1 Posts bcolins Registered Joined Jan 19, 2021 14 Posts Discussion starter·#1·4h ago When I bought my 2003 Eurovan/T4 from the original owner 5 years ago, it had 102,000 miles on it. I had a noticeably hard 1/2 upshift if the accelerator pedal pressure was lifted/decreased after initial acceleration away from a stop. Now, 5 years later with 130,000 miles on it,....I get hard upshifts with 1/2, 2/3 and 3/4 upshifts IF and only if I lift my foot after initial acceleration, before reaching 4th gear. To clarify,......If I apply throttle from a stop,.....AND keep my foot position constant,.....(do not lift my foot) then, all the shifts are normal. It does this whether hot or cold,.....no difference. I did a transmission service when I first bought the van,....replacing the filter and fluid (just draining and refilling with filter),....and have changed it it again at 129,000 miles. I also replaced all three engine and transmission mounts when I first bought it. I have read that the N92 solenoid controls shift quality,....and that the internal ribbon cables can cause various issues,...... Anyone else experienced this hard shift when accelerator pressure is lifted/reduced? Brian in Austin Reply Quote 1 - 1 of 1 Posts Write your reply... Have Eurovans totally lost value 31
Need to sell my ‘95 eurovan camper. Looked on Craigslist in the Los Angeles area, and there’s only two and the price for a working ‘95 is $15,000 and not selling. Down $10,000-15,000 from a several years ago! Is this truly the case or is this just a one off? Larger sprinters, etc are all the rage now, did they kill the market? Thanks in advice, Dan

Headlight relay install and DRLs 11
I'm considering upgrading to European headlights and installing a headlight harness. I read that installing the harness would disable the DRLs and a separate additional relay install was necessary to get the DRLs working. Any first hand experience? Thanks, Elden

These VOGUE tires are available at my local tire shop. Anyone know anything about them? They are 102H not 104H. Is that high enough rating for my 2001 Camper? Any other suggestions for San Diego? Thanks! Serge

New code - rough running misfire P1238 8
Hello group, I have a 99 Eurovan, 12 valve VR6, and I developed a misfire and a P1238 code on a recent trip. It is an injector code for Cylinder #2. Research indicates that it is not getting a ground signal, I believe? My plan was to check ohm reading of the injectors from the loom connector there by the fuel pressure regulator and see if there was wire conductivity from there to the injector. If that checks out, the next step, I believe, would be to follow that wire back towards the ECU and see if it is broken anywhere? Does that sound reasonable? It came completely out of the blue, and was somewhat intermittent at first, but now is a constant misfire or dead cylinder. Any other ideas or insights are welcome and much appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Selling 2003 Eurovan MV Weekender - project 3
Hi wonderful group, It’s time to part ways with our Eurovan. Firstly, we started needing something that can haul more weight. Secondly, it has a transmission issue that will require a teardown/rebuild, according to our trustworthy mechanic. We noticed the issue because it started slipping when it’s cold. At $8000-9000, we can’t justify doing the transmission repair just to sell it, so we are ready to hear offers. Find some details below, I can give more if you are interested. Forest Green 257,200 miles It has the Westfalia pop-top, the rear bench bed, and pop-up table. The good mechanical: -New engine installed at 100,000 miles, so about 157,000 miles on this engine -In 2021, at 222,450 miles, replaced timing chain, water pump, radiator, engine & transmission mounts, transmission service, and deep-cleaned AC supply vents. -New brakes The bad mechanical: -Needs transmission work urgently, probably a rebuild. Gear slips when accelerating, worse when cold. -Slight ping in engine that none of our mechanics has ever been concerned enough to dig into. -Windshield was poorly replaced at some point, so some leakage into the cabin on the passenger side. Some rust outside. Exterior and Interior -Hood was recently painted. Body has some dents and dings, and shows signs of age on the plastic bumpers. -Some plastic is chipped inside on one of the rear jump seats. -Some scrapes on the plastic on the front of the rear bench/bed. -Pop-top fabric torn at the back, repaired with tape -In general, it shows the wear and tear of being a 21-year-old vehicle If anyone is in need of a project Eurovan for the engine or other parts, drop us a line. We’re in the East Bay Area, in Northern California. Here’s the Craigslist post. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/emeryville-2003-volkswagen-eurovan-mv/7798831853.html I’ve been a rare poster, but a long-time reader on the forum. Thanks for the interesting insights over the years. Brian Copenhagen ’03 Weekender, Forest Green

1997 VW Eurovan Fuel Line 2
Afternoon Yesterday I explained that the fuel line, just past the fuel filter, on my 1997 VW Eurovan, Full Camper had begun to seep and leak. It appears the fuel line from that point to the engine fuel rail is a unit. Replacing the entire line looks difficult as it's enclosed in a woven sleeve with another line, cable? I didn't include a photograph. I've provided a picture as an attached file. Thoughts? Kent Kirkley

1997 VW Eurovan Fuel Line Seeping? 5
Afternoon The fuel line on my 1997 VW Eurovan Winnebago Full Camper is seeping next to the fuel filter. I've checked with BusDepot, GoWesty and Eurocampers but don't see a direct replacement. Most list various diameters of fuel lines but none with the connector on the end of the about 6-8 inch line. Recommendations, suggestions? Thanks Kent Kirkley

Seeking Owners Manual for 97 Eurovan (and 4 Modifications) 5
Last year my Eurovan was broken into and I have not been able to find an Owners Manual, paper, copy or electronic. I would appreciate any leads on where to acquire one. Thanks. (Thief pulled up the louvered window (above the stove) and reached through to pop up the drivers door lock. I have now installed a metal mesh screen over the first foot)
