Zumlink DT Quatro relays
Has anyone figured out how these work? I know it sounds like a stupid question. All documentation states the 3 leads are COM- NO- NC. This should be a no brainer but the building systems guy is reporting no change in the state of his signal when room goes vacant or occupied. The ZUM app instructions are useless.

Using the bravia module I've been using for years, won't connect no matter what combo of settings I have Any suggestions - or return it and get a new tv? Is there a method for connecting crestron to the bravia using pre-shared key by chance?

TSW-x70 and Sonos App
8
OK all, Stop laughing!...:) So I had a client who uses Sonos and the x70 panels with the MPO and the embedded Sonos App. He called me today because the x70's were telling him that he had to do a Sonos update. I usually just do it for clients via the console command, AppUpdate Sonos, and usually within a couple minutes, the panels are updated. VER -V returns that the Sonos app is on v16.1. My phone app says its on v16.4.2. After running the command, and even updating to the latest FW and then running the command, the panel still shows v16.1. The client, when he tries to launch the app on the TSW is told that he needs to update, but it won't let him update!... I know that Sonos is a total dumpster fire, esp. in the last 6 months of them trying to destroy themselves by *accident*... Just wanting to see if anyone knows if updating is possible at the moment... TIA!

NVX Routing Control
8
If you're looking to get started controlling NVX from SIMPL, I just uploaded our entire suite of modules for this. Just search the files section for "LiquidPixel NVX Control Suite" There's a SIMPL demo showing how we configure all the devices, multicast addressing, video routing, USB routing, AES67 audio routing, etc. All of the S+ modules are unlocked, and there are help files for everything. All of the routing controls are driven by analog values, and use via stream addresses (not NVX subscriptions). Thanks to Mat Klucznyk who shared some code that helped me get started on one of these modules. So now it's all going out to whoever can use it. -- Josh Winn The LiquidPixel Group

Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
My latest article is a review of the SwitchBot K10+ Pro robotic vacuum. This small robotic vacuum can get into corners and under furniture where regularly sized robotic vacuums can't fit. You can find the article here: https://restechtoday.com/reviewing-the-switchbot-mini-robot-vacuum-k10-pro/ For those interested in earlier articles that I've written, you can find those here: https://restechtoday.com/author/jaybasen/ For these interested in even earlier content that I wrote, you can find it all here though older content has formatting issues due to a transfer from blogspot to wordpress. https://topicsinhomeautomation.wordpress.com/ Thanks

TCP/IP Client and sony TV
7
Hi, I wonder if anyone can shed a light on a problem I am having. I am trying to control a Sony KDL43W755C. I can send simple IP commands to it using Packet Sender on my laptop fine, however, the Crestron TCP/IP client status is 2d, waiting for connection. I have the correct IP address for the TV and am using port 20060. Simple IP is turned on in the TVs setting, Ive tried normal and psk authentication set to 1111. Got to admit I'm confused! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spotify over multiple NAX units

I'm trying to get Spotify to play the same thing over several audio zones spread over 3 DM-NAX-8ZSA units. Any advice on how to set that up? Used to work fine with Sonos before their firmware "upgrade" earlier this year.

Crestron Home new Sony TV IP Control Incomplete
4
using a Crestron CP4R to IP control the Sony XR85X95L everything works fine. Replaced the XR85X95L with the newer Sony Bravia 9 model K85XR90 and the power on/off, input flip, and direct access to smart apps work fine, but cursor up, down, left, right, select/enter, home and other functions do nothing. Crestron has started a ticket to investigate. This is true no matter which Sony TV IP driver I choose. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for (1) Crestron TSW-760-B-S with Tabletop Kit (not TSS)
I am monitoring eBay and alike, but I thought I could ask also here in this group. Hope that's OK. I am looking for used TSW-760-B-S with corresponding tabletop kit in great cosmetically condition (and obviously working). To avoid confusion, I am not interested in the TSS version of the tablet. I am in Metro Detroit, MI. Please reach out to me if you can help. Thanks much!

TSS-770 and Accruent EMS scheduling
We have a new facility going up. They want to incorporate a scheduling panel to be integrated with our current scheduling system. We're not using XiO at this point so the software needs to work directly with the panel. The scheduling system is Accruent EMS. Link to the company site - https://tinyurl.com/wcxj54h5 The goal is to view the day and week schedule for the space and also be able to directly schedule a reservation from the panel. I was a little surprised that they want it all automated rather than schedule with a human. Security always is an issue. Don't expect a large number of instances scheduling, it would be mostly events listed for that day or week and also using the light bar show if the room is currently available or in use. (1) Has anyone used the scheduling panel and does it work well. (2) Has anyone used it with EMS (Longshot) (3) What information does the device and the software need to work together (VERY longshot) We have a meeting this week with Crestron and Accruent and I'd like to be prepared. Thanks so much for any input you can provide.

camera control of Chinese Runpu PTZ camera
5
I've recently acquired a Runpu PTZ camera, but unfortunately do not have any manual with the camera, and the manufacturers seem to be very short on documentation! https://runputech.com/en/n-55/106.html When I connect the cam to a laptop via USB I can press the menu button on the remote and can see that the camera supposedly accepts Pelco-D, Pelco-P and VISCA commands, and the back of the camera has an 8-pin mini-din RS232 port as well as a 3-pin phoenix euroblock connector for RS-485, but it doesn't seem to matter what commands I throw at it, it does nothing at all. I've been trying a few suggestions from chatGPT as well, but just cannot seem to get this camera being controlled from my RMC4. I'm quite new to Crestron programming, so just wondering what other people would do to get this working? any help would be much appreciated! In terms of what I've done so far.... have an 8-pin mini-din to unterminated cable, with Gnd to Gnd, Tx to Rx, and Rx to Tx. Using the COM Port 2-way serial driver, have tried sending all of the following with no joy: Hex FF 01 00 08 00 20 29 "FF 01 00 08 00 20 29" \xFF\x01\x00\x08\x00\x20\x29 "\xFF\x01\x00\x08\x00\x20\x29" Decimal 255 1 0 8 0 32 41 255,1,0,8,0,32,41 Pretty confident I have the wiring, and the COM Port 2-way serial driver setup correctly, as I used it in a similar setup to control a cheap Extron SW2 HDMI switcher off eBay to toggle between inputs 1 and 2 by sending the commands 1! and 2! and it works flawlessly. Not really sure what else to try?

Fire TV IR Control
8
I am currently controlling a Fire TV stick using a FLIRC adapter within Crestron Home. Customer has requested direct Netflix and Prime buttons on his Crestron remote. Does anyone know of a way I can find these codes? When you set up the FLIRC, those buttons are not available. Unfortunately CEC control is not an option. Any help would be appreciated.

Crestron Products with Pfsense Router/Firewall
4
Hi Everyone, I have been a long time user of Pfsense and am a VERY new user of Crestron products. We are just in the process of finishing our new home build and had the whole house wired to automate just about everything - LOL. Our new Crestron system will run everything from our blinds, audio/Video, Temps, etc. etc Since what seems to be the beginning of time I have been running multiple VLANs in our home network (IOT, Cameras, Guest, Management, etc. etc). Now that I am into Crestron products I am wondering if anyone has a 'recipe' they wouldn't mind sharing on the success they have had. I have already put the controller and AMPs on their own VLAN but was reading on another post that someone had separated the Audio/Video part onto a separate VLAN from the processor. Anyways, just looking for ideas/suggestions and even possible firewall rules that someone has used to allow access across VLANs/WAN to the necessary components (ie. short circuit the learning process and various 'objects' through the house. :)). Thanks in advance, I appreciate any feedback/ideas/suggestions. Curt

TSR-310 - What are the actual best Wi-Fi practices?
33
I would like to get to the bottom of this debacle once and for all!!!!!!! So, if someone from True Blue could chime in also, that would be fan-freakin'-tastic. One of my installation team just got off the phone with TB support, and yet again received different "this is how it should be" information. It seems like every support agent at TB has a different idea of how it should be done! Here's what I think that I know: TSR-310s with Latest Firmware (I'm talking numerous devices, 10+) Only 1 SSID selected and set as the preferred network. Wireless Band 5GHz selected as the only band allowed in the new band selection tab. No roaming whatsoever. Access Points Dedicated "remotes" SSID only for TSR-310 use 5GHz band only WPA2 PSK AES only 40 MHz maximum channel bandwidth No fast-roaming support No band steering The Crestron TB support agent stated that every single remote needs its own unique SSID. This is completely insane and ridiculous! So, does that mean that in an installation with 15 TSR-310 remotes (not out of the ordinary), we need to have 15 unique SSIDs just for the remotes? Crestron Home maximum device support states 24 TSR-310s on a CP4-R ... so, we need 24 unique SSIDs????!!!!! What this means for most large installations with numerous access points managed from a single portal is that they have to be removed from the portal and managed on an individual basis. For example, AP01 has remotes-01 SSID and remotes-02 SSID, AP02 has remotes-03 SSID, AP03 has remotes-04 SSID and remotes-05 SSID, etc., etc., all the way to remotes-15 SSID. Access points managed from a single portal are generally limited in the number of unique SSIDs allowed and most are added to all APs in the installation. Does this mean that we can back-charge Crestron for all of the configuration time for all of the APs with SSIDs and VLANs to set up? Also, if this really is the case, Crestron, where the hell is the document detailing exactly how it "should" be done? ... and it doesn't count if it was once available in some release notes in one firmware release 9 months ago! ... and it doesn't mean this is how it should be done in a lab with one remote and one AP. How should it be done in the real world with 15 remotes, 10 APs, 5 gateways, a microwave, 5GHz cordless phones, a cell repeater system, grandma's hearing aids, etc.? You have an NVX switch configuration best practices document that details what is generally needed for IGMP/multicast support, etc. Where is it for the remotes? We're about to just stop using all Crestron branded touch screen remotes forever. If Ava with the help of any developers could get their new "Cinema Remote" to work with Crestron custom and Home, then it would be all over for TSR-310s. I've already spoken with their team and given my wish list regarding how it could/should work with Simpl. It's all about letting us control that beautiful screen with dynamic wheel. Sorry for the rant! Please help, Brian

Multiple One-Shot Bug
3
I got a multiple one-shot that doesn't seem to be working. It has 1s parameter. When i1 is pulsed high in debugger the output goes high. When i1 is pulsed high again within the 1s time, output goes low. Help file says: Drives the corresponding output signal high for the period specified by <pulse_time> on the rising edge of the input. A subsequent rising edge of the input while the pulse time is in progress will have no effect. That is, the output will remain high only for the <pulse_time> duration, regardless of the state of the input. Anyone else having this issue? WANTED: Looking for someone with a spare infiNET-EX module for a Yale lock.
5
Hello fellas, So I'm looking for an infiNET-EX module for a Yale Lock, need one for a client that purchased a Yale lock directly from Yale without our consent, so naturally he wants to control it through Crestron now. Unfortunately Crestron doesn't sell them individually. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TV Presets v2 not working on a fresh load -- THOUGHT I WAS HIGH
2
There was a time when it was more likely I'd screwed up than Crestron. Unfortunately I'm a slow learner and I always assume I've done something wrong and its me rather than Crestron screwing up. Hopefully this one teaches me a lesson. This is a shining example. I spent literally and hour maybe two trying to figure out how I'd mucked up this feature on a 3 to 4 series SIMPL system upgrade. I looked carefully at every signal (I'm dyslectic so and r/w errors and typo's happen) and even referenced know working systems to see where I'd gone a stray. THANK YOU for this post as I probably would have spent even more time before calling TrueBlue. I rarely look up things because TrueBlue's search index is the worse in the industry.... so finding this post was a huge help. Again THANK YOU! - Crestron -- not so much!
