Having successfully installed an MQTT broker and client on my RPI, I am now trying to use a Pico client to implement JMRI messages. I can successfully publish and subscribe messages from the broker to and from the Pico when a topic/message is manually entered into a 'publish' command in the Pi's terminal screen and utilising the topic name in the 'subscribe' .py code on the the Pico. The next step is to use the JMRI MQTT facility but when I activate a turnout from the JMRI MQTT 'node' or layout panel nothing appears to be published to the broker. All of the configuration settings are the same as those used and working without the involvement of JMRI and, at this stage, I am thus thinking that I might be doing something wrong with the turnout send topic. I have tried each of the examples mentioned in the JMRI documentation by activation of the table and the layout panel controls using a turnout message set up in the MQTT node, but to no avail. I hope this makes sense and would really appreciate a working example or some suggestions of how to proceed ? Toni

I am attempting correct errors in the sections table generated from the Validate command under tools. I made many changes, saved the changes and closed JMRI. When I loaded JMRI again all my changes were gone. How do I prevent this from happening again? Does JMRI recreate the Sections table every time it is loaded? Stephen Marler

Team, I have 4 android Tablets with the latest Engine Driver app. I noticed the attached difference in color vs. Blk/Wht appearance and cannot figure out why. This led me to lead me to investigate the import/export preferences functions and I cannot get that to work. 1) What setting is causing the color difference? 2) I want Tablet 1 be my master so I'd like to export Tablet 1 preferences to the JMRI laptop over wifi and then import preferences over wifi from the JMRI laptop to Tablets 2, 3 & 4. Greetings all, first time posting. I am looking for some assistance with the Logix. I am using CMRI with an Arduino board and shield system. I have everything assigned and working properly. However, what I am attempting to do isn't as clear as I thought it would be in PanelPro when it comes to using the Logix options for programming a sequence. My goal is to have a single IR sensor detect when a train is passing by a signal bridge that I have built using my 3D printer. Each rail will have it's own detector in a single lane, dual lane, or any other such expansion that the bridge can accommodate. There are a series of aspects that are being used that I want to control in a series function using the Logix. I want the Logix to function as follows: 1) If no train detected (and no other lights are active) - activate/keep Green light on 2) If train is detected - switch to red light on Keep red light on while train is detected 3) Once train is no longer detected - set countdown timer for red light If train is detected - go to 2) 4) Once countdown for red light has expired - and no train is detected - activate yellow lights and set countdown timer If train is detected - end timer and go to 2) 5) Once countdown for yellow lights has expired - and no train is detected - activate green lights and keep on (till train is detected) If train is detected - end timer and go to 2) Is it possible to setup a sequence like this with the Logix system? And how might that look? I am having a bit of a struggle understanding the Logix programming portion, so the most simplified way to achieve this would be helpful! I very much appreciate any and all comments and answers to my query in advance. Thanks! :-)

I am a beginner using Python, (struggling to understand syntax). I think I can get the turnout example script to initialize my turnouts to work, (SetTurnouts.py), but I can't find a similar example to simply turn on my power relays, (for DCC track power to 10 separate blocks of track). I can control the relays just fine using the JMRI table buttons. Thank you for your help, Paul in Utah
