F3 Savannah Female
This lovely spayed F3 female will most likely be coming into rescue soon. Unfortunately, her current owner has found she does not have the time to spend with her and is gone a lot. Jada is a brown spotted Savannah who does fine with older children and has been around dogs. If you are in California and are interested in Jada. Please contact me at gattobello@... and/or Brigitte at brigitte@... Only those who have filled out an adoption application will be considered, so if you have not done so, please do so now. POSSIBLE SAVANNAH IN RESCUE
We received this email from someone who believes they have a Savannah in their rescue organization. As we have not seen the cat in person and cannot tell from the pictures provided, we cannot state and/or guarantee that this is indeed a Savannah. However, if you are interested in him, the contact information is below. This is a courtesy to the rescue organization that has him only. Again, SVCC Rescue has not determined this cat to be a Savannah. Kristine C. Alessio, Esq. F4 Savannah Female available for adoption
Attached are pictures of "Tao", a two year old F4 Savannah female, the pics were taken when she was a year old but are the only ones that I have been given. As you can see she is a an attractive cat, with lovely long legs. Tao was spayed after pregnancy complications a year ago and is available for adoption, she has not been doing well in a large multiple cat household so we feel that she would be more suitable for a house with maybe one other cat. She does well with dogs, but is not suitable for a house with small children. Tao loves to play but does not like to be handled or picked up and restrained. She does not sound like she has had a lot of attention in the past year so will require some patience on the part of the adoptive home. Currently she is still at the home of her owner, but will come vetted and tested for FeLV and FIV, and current on vaccinations. Please contact me at rescue@... or Kristine Alessio at gattobello@... for more information. B -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Retired SV female available
Hi, This is a new idea we've thought up, mainly to be able to offer the many of you that have joined this list looking to help a Savannah in need of a good home. We are fortunate to have very few Savannahs in need of Rescue, but we know that there are a lot of homes out there. This new venture is a way to offer you a Savannah that is in need of a home, and make a donation to Savannah Rescue for the time when we DO have a Savannah in Rescue and need funds to cover vet bills. Zoe is a spayed F4 female, she was spayed earlier this year due to complications in a pregnancy. She is a social and loving cat, one of the rare Savannahs that likes to curl up on laps for cuddles. She is vetted and up to date on vaccinations. She has no behavioral issues at all, she gets along well with other cats and is not at all dominant. She is not familiar with dogs (but is likely to accept them after some adjustment period), but would be great with children. She has an exceedingly loving personality once she gets to know you, and will make a perfect pet for some lucky family. She would be available for a donation of $200 to Savannah Rescue, plus any shipping. She is currently in Chicago, IL. Please contact on of the Rescue Coordinators for more information on this loving SV girl in need of a lap... rescue@... or gattobello@... . Thanks! Marble Savannah Female and black (melanistic) Savannah kitten in Rescue
These are terrible pictures, and I hope to have better pics from Molly Mae's and Maxie's foster home tomorrow. Molly Mae was surrendered to a shelter in Indiana pregnant. They could tell at that stage that she was a young cat (less than a year old) and this was her first pregnancy. She has had that litter and all but one had been adopted before someone found Savannah Rescue and contacted us about her. We were certain just looking at these pictures that Molly was a Savannah, she has a lovely head shape, large well-set ears and is a leggy lean build, although a nonstandard pattern for a Savannah (but marbles do occur regularly in most breeding programs). She will be spayed now before going to a new home. From her new foster mom I have heard that Molly purrs the moment she sees a human, and likes to lie on her back and "make biscuits" in the air with her paws. She is super loving and sociable. Someone is going to be very fortunate to have her in their lives. It's a lot harder to tell with Maxie, being a black kitten as they are notoriously hard to photograph and it definitely seems harder to see type from pics with black (melanistic) SV kittens. Maxie has been handled by many many volunteers at the shelter while growing up so is super-friendly and happy to play with anyone. She's a bundle of energy and would be a perfect companion for anyone with a new Savannah kitten. She comes fully vaccinated and will be spayed soon before leaving for her new home. She is only ten weeks old right now. Please contact Brigitte at rescue@... or Kristine at gattobello@... for more information about either of these two girls. This is your chance to apply to adopt one of these girls before they are put up on our website and advertised on any other lists. Molly and Maxie are looking for homes!
Here is an adorable picture that our wonderful Leonard Dieguez took of our new Rescue arrivals in San Diego. Molly is a brown marbled tabby Savannah female that is about a year old. She was surrendered to a shelter in Indiana pregnant with Maxie, who is a melanistic SV female. We estimate Molly to be an F3, she is extremely easy-going, friendly and loving to all she meets. Maxie is a typically playful kitten but she has inherited her mother's loving personality, and so we estimate her to be F4 generation. We do not know who Maxie's daddy was of course. They would both make great companions for anyone that has recently bought a Savannah kitten and needs a companion, or as a SV in their own right! They will come spayed, vaccinated and FeLV/FIV tested for an adoption fee of $150 each. Please contact rescue@... or gattobello@... if you would be interested in offering either or both a great home. Please, someone offer them a home before young Miss Emily Alessio persuades her mother Kristine to keep them both!!! These cats are incredibly social, love kids, and are just beautiful. Miss Emily will be keeping them if someone else does not take them, her mother is a sucker. Just kidding. In all honesty, they are really nice cats and would do well in any home. Kristine C. Alessio, Esq. F4 retired breeder female available
Hi, Anne is a B-registered (means both parents are Savannahs) F4 generation female. She is being retired from breeding due to difficulty in sustaining a pregnancy. She is three years old. Her owner says she is a quiet girl with good litterbox habits who gets along well with other cats. She is shy with strangers but warms up with some patience. The new home would have to commit to giving Anne some space to get used to her new home and some patience in winning her over and gaining her trust before she would be a wonderful companion for some lucky person or family. Anne would do best in a quiet home without too many children or a lot of other pets. Anne loves to play with balls and feather wands. She does have the Savannah habit of playing with her water, but her current owner finds that attaching the bowl stops her emptying her water dish continually. Anne is available for an adoption fee of a $150 donation to rescue and a commitment to spaying her when she arrives, she will come up to date on vaccinations and be tested negative for FeLV and FIV, with shipping being an additional charge. Please contact me at rescue@... or Kristine Alessio at gattobello@... if you are interested in adopting Anne. Thanks! Lovely Retired F6 Savannah Girl
Hello everyone, I have decided to spay and place for adoption one of my Savannah queens. Her name is Little Bit and she is an F6 Savannah. She is not a large cat – hence the name Little Bit but has dramatic dark marking and nice upright ears. She can jump a mile high and likes water much as most Savannahs. Here adoption fee is $150.00 all of which is payable to Savannah Rescue, not me. I would rather she be placed locally and I live in San Diego. I could ship her, but you would need to reimburse for airfare and health certificate. Little Bit has produced some of the nicest F6 kittens, and they are now in breeding programs. She deserves her forever home. Does fine with other cats and kids. Spayed, up to date on shots and FELV/FIV negative as well as microchipped. Please see my website, under “Queens” to see her (-: www.gattobello.com Kristine C. Alessio, Esq. Incoming Rescue Savannahs
Hi, I don't have any pictures to share right now but I thought I'd let you all know that we do have two Savannahs coming into Rescue in different states. In Colorado, we have an F2 male that is pretty scared right now so his foster home hasn't gotten a good pic yet. He's a decent sized boy but will need a home that is quiet and patient. He loves being petted but he is very shy. We'd rather not ship him. In Milwaukee, we have an F4 female arriving into her foster home this weekend. She is very sweet and has no behavioral issues, she is being surrendered due to the husband's allergies I believe. If you are interested in either of these two cats, let me know and I can make sure you are one of the first to see pics when we have them. Sabbie the F4 Savannah female
Sabbie is a 2.5 year old F4 Savannah female, she was surrendered due to a household member developing cat allergies. There are no behavioral issues at all, she is very affectionate and playful and gets along with other cats as well as tolerating dogs. She recently had a litter (kittens were adopted out before she was surrendered to Rescue) and she will be spayed shortly. She will come fully vaccinated and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. She is available for an adoption fee of $200 to cover vetting costs (including spay). Currently Sabbie is being fostered in the Milwaukee, WI area and we would give preference to a home that could pick her up in person. Please contact Brigitte at rescue@... or Kristine at gattobello@... if you are interested in Sabbie. Thank you! Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Potential Rescue SV available in Canada
Hi, There is a gorgeous smoke F2 female that is likely to be available soon in Canada. She's a tall lean 9lb2oz cat, young adult (we haven't been able to get an exact age yet) and absolutely loves humans. She has had a health checkup and fecal testing which was clear, she has a small cosmetic, non-surgical, abdominal hernia about the size of a quarter. The vet assures it is not a worry and probably a result of its spay quite a while ago. The vet also detected a slight heart murmur (Grade 2) which he did not feel is of concern and may be due to any number of minor reasons including stress, and quite possibly may be transient. Dukati needs a household without other cats, she was given up due to problems with the other cats in the household. The home that now has her is going to try to introduce her to other cats as soon as her quarantine period is over, but we do not know at this point whether she might be able to be integrated into a household with other cats. We do not know if she is okay with dogs. She's easy to handle, loves to be petted and played with, and clipping claws is very easy. She is a tad hissy like a Serval can be, but it is more conversational than anything, like many early generation Savannahs. The home that has rescued her has accumulated some expenses in fetching her and vetting her, and is asking for an adoption fee of $500 to cover these costs. If you are interested in Dukati, please contact me at rescue@... and I can put you in touch with the person that is caring for her. At this point we do not wish to deal with CITES permits to import her into the US, so Canadian homes only please! This cat is not in Savannah Rescue, but has been taken in by a breeder in Canada and they are committed to finding her the right home. They've contacted Savannah Rescue for help in finding that home..and we are happy to help get the word out :-) Sincerely, Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Merry Christmas and New SV Rescue F4 female
Kristine and I would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and all the best for 2008! We have just been notified of an available Savannah in Rescue. Fitz is a spayed F4 female about 10 months old. She's loving and sociable but she has had dominance issues with the other two older female cats in her household recently. Her owner feels that this cannot be resolved and feels that Fitz would do better in a smaller pet household, ideally one with male cats as Fitz gets along great with the two male cats in the house. Fitz is located in Oregon, and the current owner would prefer not to ship so we are initially searching for a local home. If a perfect pet home is found that requires shipping, then it would be considered but preference will be given to a home that can drive to the Medford region to pick Fitz up. Fitz is up to date on vaccines, and was recently tested negative for FeLV/FIV. Attached are pictures of Fitz, if you cannot view them then we suggest that you change your group settings to "Individual Mails" rather than viewing from the YahooGroups webpage. Please email rescue@... or gattobello@... for more information if you are interested in offering Fitz a forever home. "F2" Savannah Male available for single-cat household
Hi, We have a lovely large dramatic neutered male Savannah coming into Rescue. Ichabod was found on the street so we do not have papers on him but it is completely obvious from pictures that this cat is most definitely a Savannah. Most likely F2 is our estimation. He's a handsome guy, and a very good sized boy. He came around very quickly to his current human and is very affectionate and interactive with him. He purrs, head butts, rubs and "trills" when visited by the guy that has him currently. The PROBLEM is that the home already has SIX other domestic cats and this SV male is too rough with them. Most likely this is a product of his insecurity after being out on the street &/or his former treatment at his original home...but he is aggressive with other cats and being large and strong he is completely intimidating to them. We feel that he needs a home without other cats. It is possible that in the future other cats could be introduced, or possibly a doggy companion would work. We do not currently know how he reacts to dogs. Ichabod was found on the street with a very tight collar/harness and something that appeared to be a crescent-shaped cataract, later determined to be a past penetrating eye injury. The vet felt that he has ~50% sight in that eye, it does not affect him in any way. Currently, Ichabod is in the midwest, but can be shipped to the right home. His adoption fee will be $200 plus any shipping costs incurred. Please, only those that do not currently have cats in their household apply to offer Ichabod a home. Please contact me at rescue@... or Kristine Alessio at gattobello@... if interested in Ichabod. Sincerely, Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... F4 Savannah available through another rescue group in Northern California
Mondo is an F4 Savannah male with mainly Bengal outcrossing in his background. He is 18 months old and very sociable and friendly. He has no bad habits or behavioral issues, and currently lives in a large multicat household without a problem. He gets on great with other domestic cats, and the owner feels that he would also adapt well to cat-friendly dogs and older children. He has not been used to young children so there would be no guarantees there. Mondo is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and combo tested negative for FIV/FeLv. His adoption fee is ~$100 I believe. Please email me at rescue@... if you are interested in Mondo, I will be passing on contact details of suitable homes to the rescue group handling his adoption.
